The Chicago-born star had a breakout third year, averaging 25 points, 7.7 assists and 4.1 rebounds per game. The first pick in the 2008 draft and Rookie of the Year, also started his first All-Star game after making the team as a reserve last season.

Rose led the Bulls to a 62-20 regular season record and the #1 overall seed in the playoffs. Chicago never lost more than two games in a row the entire year.

He joins Michael Jordan as the only other Chicago Bull to be named league MVP.
