Yeah, I know. I'm a little late getting this up. I'm blaming it on the holiday weekend and laziness in general.
Ohio State head football coach Jim Tressel has resigned right before the start of what would have been his 11th season with the school amid an ever growing list of accusations against he and his players about them giving team memorabilia in exchange for things such as tattoos and cars.

In any case, this story is far from over. My guess is that the team itself will face sanctions, and now there is an independent investigation into Terrelle Pryor's involvement. Apparently Mr. Pryor has driven many a car during his time at OSU. He's been stopped by police on traffic violations four times in FOUR DIFFERENT vehicles. Just last night, at a players only meeting, Pryor rolled up in a jet black, tricked-out Nissan 350Z with temp tags, as it was recently purchased. Oh, and it just so happens that all of the cars he's been stopped in came from the same dealer.

I agree. Something about Tressel always seemed fake. Looks like they've been doing stuff they shouldn't have ever since he got there as well. I wonder if Urban Meyer may come out of "retirement" and take the job.
ReplyDeleteI liked Tressel, honestly! I just can't stand the bandwagon Buckeye fans - they're worse than any NCAA allegation.
ReplyDeleteAlso, I really hope Gary Pinkel doesn't leave Mizzou for this gig...
I'm sure Michigan is glad to see him go, seeing as how he basically owned them.
ReplyDeleteI agree with Brian also, in that there's always been something about him that seemed shady. Not really surprised that all this is coming out now.
